I remember when my husband Brian proposed to me…. we were in Door County for the weekend scanning the menu at a cute little bistro set up right on the beach.  The sun was just about to set and while I was deciding what glass of wine I was  about to enjoy I looked down from the folded menu and there was a beautifully wrapped gift box right in front of me. All I could manage to say was, “SHUT UP!” And even though my fabulous husband to be couldn’t really muster up enough courage to get down on one knee he asked me to be his wife!!  I couldn’t have been more thrilled! At that very moment… seriously…..that very moment I was already planning our wedding and the exact thing that Brian said after a moment was, “Now, we don’t have to start planning right away, right?”  All I could do was laugh….:)   This was the first of many wonderful memories that our engagement led to…

Every couple has a story.. When I meet with a new couple this is always the first thing I ask. I love the engagement story and all of the details that lead up to the big day, the day when that same bride walks down the aisle to meet her groom and marry her best friend.  My approach to wedding photography is a straight forward, fun and  a simple approach!  Weddings bring out the best in  people and everyone is happy and in love at a wedding!  That is the best!  I truly enjoy capturing relationships between family and friends and the best part of my job is to create lasting and romantic images of the bride and groom on the most important day of their new lives together. And this is my goal when I document a wedding.

And naturally, the most important part of a wedding is having FUN!  We plan on having fun at your wedding too and plan on keeping the atmosphere light and easygoing! So when you look back at your beautiful photo Albums from your engagement to your Wedding day, you can say, “Wow, what a story!”

1. What is your Style?  

I feel that my style is a mixture of many different things! From Documentary photojournalistic photography to classic posed bridal portraits.  A wedding is a great place to have the best of both worlds! I don’t think you can have one without the other. A bride will love beautiful images of herself on her wedding day, that can only be achieved by  someone who has an extensive background in posing and lighting. A bride will also love fun, “in the moment” photographs that happen as the story unfolds. When I photograph a wedding I find myself starting with a great pose which unfolds to some great candid, exciting moments which are never missed!  When looking at different photographers, make sure you are able to view entire collections of weddings so you can see the true range of their photographic abilities and style.  Keep in mind, a great photographer will know how to make every bride look her best so pay extra attention to bridal portraits!

2. How many weddings do you photograph a year?

I photograph between 10-15 weddings per year. I like to keep my numbers low so I am able to pay extra careful attention to each one of my brides!

4. Will you help me with the timeline of my day?

YES! Your photographer is the only wedding vendor that will be with you throughout the entire day.  So you want to carefully select your wedding photographer! Because of this, it’s important to work with your photographer and put a great wedding day timeline together that will ensure you have a stress free day and enjoy every minute!

5. What is your retainer fee?

To book your date and make sure you are on the calendar, a retainer fee of 750.00 is due at contract signing that is non-refundable.

6. Do you offer a guarantee?

Of COURSE!! I offer a 100%, no questions asked, money back guarantee! I want you to pay close attention here, make sure your photographer offers this! This is so important to me. I believe in my work 100% and I stand behind all of my work so if you don’t cry tears of joy after seeing your wedding day images, You will get all of your money back! So really, there’s no risk to you.  I want you to have the best photographs ever!

7. I really like unposed photographs, what do you think about this?

Creating Candid, unposed photographs is a must at any wedding! We take hundreds of images throughout the day and most are unposed. When looking at wedding photographers, make sure you see a good, adequate mix of posed and unposed! remember, that the word “posed” can be a good word! If you are a bride and are worried about how you look, wanting to look your best and most beautiful on your wedding day, you will want to make sure you choose a photographer that knows how to pose someone to bring out their best image. Every bride is beautiful  and highlighting their best features to make them love love love their wedding photographs is one of my favorites reasons for photographing weddings!

8. I have a ton of images pinned on pinterest! Can you look at some and get ideas of what I like?

I love Pinterest and I love going over new and fun ideas from Brides and Grooms. After all, this is your day and I totally understand. I enjoy working with brides to create fun and unique images! So bring those images with you or send me a link to your pinterest page! It will be fun!

9. I have a wedding planner, is that okay?

Wedding Planners are super and if have one that’s awesome! We actually work well with them and it’s a blessing for you to have that many wedding professionals at your service to make your day the best it can be! If you need a local referall, please let me know!

10. I really want a stress free day! How can you help me with that?

Creating a stress free day is one of my highest priorities for your wedding day. The Most important thing to accomplish is creating an adequate timeline for your day.  I make sure to go over all of your details with you before you start booking hair appointments and limos, so that you know exactly how much time you will need to create the best day EVER!

12. I love your photography, but I’m on a budget, do you offer a payment plan?

I’m so glad you love what you see and I know that no one will put their heart and soul into your wedding photography like I will! Of course, I offer a payment plan!
I require 2/3rds of the balance 2 months before and the remainder 2 weeks before! And I always have a pay in full BONUS GIFT!

13. Do we get an engagement session?

I absolutely love engagement sessions! by scheduling your complimentary engagement session prior to your wedding, this is the perfect time to to meet lindsey marie and get to know each other! You’ll learn first hand that Lindsey is super easy to work with and the grooms are able to relax a bit, knowing that the photography at their wedding will be just as enjoyable and hassle free!  I also offer a really cool engagement guest sign-in book!
